松坂屋コレクションは、松坂屋が呉服制作のデザインソースとして、昭和初期に蒐集した染織コレクションの総称である。呉服の自社デザインの図案制作に利用されたため、今までその全貌は明らかにされてこなかった。今回そのコレクションが名古屋に移設されることを機に、学術的な調査研究を行い、染織コレクションとしての位置づけを探ることにした。特異な蒐集目的から残された作品は約1万件にのぼる。この研究では、その内小袖に的を絞り、優れた作品52領を選定して行った。調査の結果、染織史や小袖の変遷を物語る作品が幾つも見られただけでなく。他のコレクションにはない、デザインソースという蒐集スタンスであったが故の、松坂屋コレクション独自の特徴を見出すことができた。 |

The Matsuzakaya Collection is a general term of the textile collection which the Matsuzakaya Department Store gathered in the early Showa period. The collection has been, however, unopen to the public because it has been used as the design resource of Matsuzakaya's products. Therefore, the detail is yet to be clarified. In the year 2010, the collection was moved to Nagoya. On this occasion, we conducted academic research in oreder to examine its potision as a textile collection. Collected under the peculiar purpose, the collection counts about 10,000 pieces. This research focused on the 52 selected superior kosodes. As a result, we found a number of examples which embody the history of textiles and transition of kosode. In addition, the collection's unique character was revealed. |
