It is natural that the twenty-nine sketches, owned by the Mitsui Family are thought of as a set. However, close examination of the sketches reveals that there are some variations in their construction and touch. We surmise that the sketches were not made by one person in one period, but by several painters over several periods and then put together. In addition we investigated each sketch from a social point of view. After three years of study, we could not find sufficient evidence to prove that the Maruyama School painter took part in the production, but we can conclude that the construction of the sketches was influenced by the unique spatial consciousness of Okyo Maruyama. In the future, based on the method which we established in this study, we will attempt to view costumes from early modern to modern times from various angles |

三井家より伝来した総計29件のきもの型原寸大下絵は一群の資料として扱われるべきものである。ただし、実見調査から構成や筆致に様々な相違があることが伺える為、一人の人間によって一時期にまとめて作られたというよりは、複数の手によって制作されたものの集積であると考えられる。3年間にわたり、個々の「下絵」の分析や「下絵群」を取り巻く社会状況について多面的な考察を行った結果、円山派絵師の直接的な関与を裏付ける新資料は見出されなかったものの、下絵の文様構成の通底に、円山応挙が確立した画面空間の三次元化という発想が受け継がれていることが明らかになった。今後は今回の考察によって得た方法論に基づき、近世から近代の服装について様々な視点から考えていきたい。 |
