The objective of this research is to clarify the content of the provenance and the collectable about the kimono and Japanese textile collection of museums in Europe. It especially focuses on the collection that the museums own before the 1930's. In the year 2010, preliminary studies have carried out at the museums in Italy; Museo d'Arte Orientale Ca' Pesaro, Venice and Museo Pier Alessandro Garda e del Canavese, Ivrea. Museo d'Arte Orientale Ca' Pesaro, Venice, is one of the most important collection of Japanese art. This collection was bought by Prince Henry II of Borbone, Count of Bardi (1851-1906) during his travel to Asia, bewteen 1887 and 1889. Museo Pier Alessandro Garda e del Canavese, Ivrea, has the collection of Japanese art, founded in 1876. This collection was bought by Pier Alexander Garda (1791-1880）in Europe; Paris and Vienna |
