"日本語教員養成課程の必修科目としての日本語教育実習をろうの学生が履修することとなった。当該学生の日本語教育実習履修に際して，日本語教員としての実習を受けることは可能なのか，教育実習を特別な形で行うべきなのか，どのような実習を行うべきかなどについて，本人との話し合い，外部機関の調査などを通してさまざまに検討された。本稿では，一連の検討事項を追確認するために，まず，ろう者の言語背景，日本語教師として必要な能力，欠格条項見直し案に代表されるろう者の権利などについての検討内容を報告した。次に，日本語教育実習の意義について，(1)日本語教員養成機関対象のアンケート結果から，(2)本学の既存の教育実習を通して学生たちが学んだことを実習報告の記述内容から，考察した。最後に，当該学生に対してどのような実習が行われたか，そしてその実習がどのような意義を持つものであったかを考察した。本稿はまた，日本語教育の知見がろう教育に寄与する可能性があることを示唆するものでもある。",
