関係を持っているかを探るため、語用論的能力テストと語用論的動機づけ質問紙によるデータを量的に分析した ものである。その結果、語用論的動機づけとしてMeaning conveyance（意味伝達）、Psychological barrier（心 理的障壁）、Real-life language use（実生活における言語使用）、Difficulty in language use（言語使用の困難さ）、 Formality（形式性）、Appropriacy（適切性）の6因子が抽出された。それらの因子について語用論的能力との 相関を求めたところ、顕著な相関は見られなかったものの、語用論的能力が高い学習者グループにおいてのみ、 弱い相関が見られた。この上位グループにおいては、心理的障壁が高い、すなわちコミュニケーションがうまく
