The Taiwanese character \"bang\"(幇) appears to be gradually losing the implied meaning of \"to help\". Examples are sometimes evident in Taiwanese newspapers where this word has a double meaning to include the recipient receiving a profit or favor. Similarly, the word \"Gei\"(給) is also being used in different ways to how it is used in ordinary language such as\"XVP Gei Y\"(XVP 給 Y).
