We contacted collections located in the city of Kyoto with materials related to our research by mail and the resulting survey has cast some light on the whereabouts and current state of kimono those days. This year, we interviewed the staff in charge of the collections. We made a list of the articles that appeared in the newspaper Shenshoku Hinode Shinbun, as they give an invaluable insight into the trends of the textile industry in Kyoto during the early Showa period (1932-1940).
