In addition, the clothes have various colors as well as white, and can be patterned. Various reasons such as functional improvement and avoidance of giving patients intimidated and negative feelings on seeing a white coat have led to these changes. Thus, 304 female nurses were examined to clarify what impression they had of 6 styles of nurse' clothing. Clothing which patients considered favorable and nurses wished to wear comprised long pants and a non-patterned white coat. Clothing which patients did not consider favorable and nurses did not wish to wear comprised a floral-printed one-piece with a white background. A non-patterned white coat was highly evaluated from the points of ”sense of responsibility” and ”beauty”. The floral-printed style was highly evaluated from the points of ”thoughtfulness” and ” individuality”.
