Participants included 156 males (mean age, 76 years old) and 144 females (mean age, 76 years old) who were free-living Japanese healthy adults. In January 2010, we measured the dressing behavior and the QOL using a questionnaire. ANCOVA analysis showed that the QOL assessed by functional capacity, depression and IKIGAI (the meaning of life) was significantly better in people with higher interest in dressing behavior than in people with lower interest in dressing behavior in both males and females. Likewise, participating in volunteer activities in both sexes and frequency of going outdoors in males were significantly greater in the group of participants who had higher interest in clothing and fashion. These results suggest an importance of greater interest in dressing behavior for maintaining QOL in older individuals}, title = {装い行動が高齢者のQOLに及ぼす影響に関する研究}, year = {2010} }
