On occasion of the exhibition “6+ Antwerp Fashion” at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery (11 April-28 June, 2009), comparison in relation to their fashion designs of these two regions was made. The first generation of Antwerp designers was influenced by Japanese Fashion, especially after having visited Osaka in 1984 and Tokyo in 1985. Eventually, this event has led to the birth of the Antwerp Six in 1986.
