It appears the dress was imagined and constructed as a gorgeous rose on the black velvet body, because the red satin crape, seen on the face of the dress, was utilized on the inside of the bodies as well as the foundation supporting the dress. The pattern of the bodice, cut at the high-waist position, was development in a near circle pattern with joined tucks to construct a three-dimensional rose –like shape. As for the sewing method which took stage costume into consideration, we were able to clarify various techniques such as the following: the use of two layers on the inside of the bodice foundation as well as a wire fitted inside the train’s seam to keep the train from becoming disarranged when moving about on stage}, pages = {57--65}, title = {オートクチュール仕立ての舞台衣装におけるパターンと縫製について : ニナ・リッチのベルベットのイヴニングドレス}, volume = {6}, year = {2013} }
